Who we are
The NRT of Easton is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to enriching the community with environmental programming and land conservation. The NRT owns and manages various conservation properties throughout the community. Land owned by the NRT of Easton, including our Sheep Pasture campus, is open to the public for personal recreational use. The trails and open spaces at Sheep Pasture are a welcoming space for all members of the community to enjoy.
Our Mission
It is the mission of the Natural Resources Trust of Easton (NRT) to educate about significant natural and cultural resources and to preserve land of special character for the benefit of the public. The NRT promotes a land ethic in the community through educational programming. The NRT provides leadership, cooperation, and networking to others with similar missions.
The Natural Resources Trust of Easton is focused on preserving Easton's rural character and heritage. The NRT programs and initiatives are pursued through the collaborative efforts of the NRT Board, staff, committee members, and community volunteers.

When can I visit Sheep Pasture?
Our Sheep Pasture campus is open seven days a week from dawn until dusk. Enjoy our walking trails, visit our animals, and take in our beautiful scenic surroundings. There are ample onsite parking spaces, restrooms, and picnic tables.
What are the benefits of an NRT membership?
NRT members receive reduced rates for all programs, as well as Sheep Pasture Nature Camp. You will also receive regular updates from the NRT team. Our members are a crucial part of our organization and allow us to continue to carry out the NRT mission.
Can I have a private event at Sheep Pasture?
Yes! We have multiple spaces available for private rentals, both indoors and outdoors. You must be a member to have a private event. If you’d like to learn more please email us at info@nrtofeaston.org.
Where is the main office located?
The main office of our Sheep Pasture campus is located in the Carriage House. It is the large red building located across from our picnic area.
When was the NRT founded?
The NRT was founded in 1967 after a group of concerned citizens joined together to raise funds to buy Wheaton Farm.
Can I volunteer to work at NRT events?
Yes! Like most nonprofit organizations, much of our work relies on the kindness of our volunteers. We are always looking for extra help at our larger events. Please let us know if you’re interested in learning more by emailing us at info@nrtofeaston.org.
